Teofimo Lopez

Client: Teofimo Lopez
Project Scope: Merchandise Design / Brand Design

During my time freelancing in Seoul, I was contacted by an experienced boxing official and Navy vet, Jorge, who represented a young American-Honduran boxing prodigy named Teofimo Lopez. Being an enthusiast of combat sports, I had never heard of Teofimo at the time. Jorge had convinced me that this young boxing stud with a 7-0 pro record has a bright future, and mentioned that they wanted some graphics designed for upcoming fights and promotion. This type of project really excited me and of course I happily accepted.

As Teofimo continued to climb up the rankings (in extraordinary fashion), I designed merchandise and various promo for his fights and media scrums. Fast forward to December 14, 2019 live at Madison Square Garden, NYC; Teofimo wins by a second-round knockout to become the IBF Lightweight Champion of the world, with an undefeated record of 15 wins and no losses. Oh yeah, and he’s also only 22 years old, so there’s that, too.

To make a long story shorter, I have an ongoing relationship with Teofimo’s representatives and production team, FTWR Brand of California, where we continue to collaborate on relevant, dynamic graphics and merchandise to represent this up-and-coming boxing star.
